in excellent condition. This is one that has been modified from an English made (with fine detail to the feathers) US Army officer's cap badge. The centre screw post has been removed and two screw posts have been added for fixing to the cap.

Measures 2 3/8" x 2 3/8"

The 1st American squadron was authorised by a special Order in Council signed by King George VI in September 1940 to permit it to be incorporated in the British Armed forces and was composed of Americans living in London and was attached to H.Q. London District.
