Here is a named to A F Burch USAAF A2 Flying Jacket, Now here’s the mystery, it has a 18th Bomb Squadron patch (something I can’t explain, may have been transferred) but he was a pilot flying with the 303rd BG Hells’s Angels” 427th SQ in B-17 “Shooting Star” out of Moleswoth (later the aircraft was transferred to the 323BS/91BG Bassingbourn 1/6/43; Missing in Action Stuttgart 6/9/43)

Pilot 1st Lt. Armand Burch Pilot flying the B17 “Shooting Star” out of Mendlesham. With copies of awards for purple heart and the Air Medal and Combat report for mission 29.

The Jacket is in good condition the leather is supple with no rips or tears. English made patch for the 18th Bomb Squadron. Jacket was made by Dubow of Chicago in a size 40.

Due to age and wear the jacket has been re-Lined, zip replaced and period replacement waist band and cuffs. All done near perfectly by a professiona.
